Diving the HMAS Hobart
The HMAS Hobart was a Perth class guided missile destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). She was commissioned to the RAN in 1965. In 1966 the HMAS Hobart went to Vietnam and served as a plane guard for carriers in the Tonkin Gulf. The second time the HMAS Hobart went to Vietnam was in 1968. On 13 April, the destroyer arrived on the gunline, relieving the USS Henry B. Wilson.

On 12 May 2000 the HMAS Hobart was desommissioned by the RAN and on 5 November 2002 she was sunk 4 nautical miles (7.4 km) west-north-west of Marina Vincent, Yankalilla Bay in South Australia. The reason to scuttle this ship was to form an artificial scuba dive reef. There's still a lot to see on this wreck like the engine room, bridge, the rudders and the propellor shaft. You can swim through funnels and see the captain's quarters. There are still toilets, mirrors, beds that provide funny poses for photo's. This 133 meter long ship can amaze you over and over again.
