Scuba diving in Hurghada

Hurghada is another popular diving destination in Egypt. It has a beautiful reefs and other fantastic dive sites pretty close by. There are also quite a few, popular wrecks within the area that can be explored while scuba diving. Some of the wrecks you can find just off the coast and you do not need to be an experienced diver to be able to penetrate them.
This part of the Red Sea is perfect for the less experienced scuba divers. The water is shallow, warm and extremely clear. The visibility is more than 30 meters all year round. While the area is less developed and not as popular as Sharm El Sheik, it is gaining more and more popularity. There are many hotels and resorts in the area and that number is still growing. Lots of these hotels and resorts have their own scuba diving center and many of them have their own fully equipped boats as well. There are around 150 scuba dive centers and shops in the area.
Hurghada has more to offer than just good scuba diving. There are a number of excellent markets and bazaars where you can go shopping, or other activities such as jeep safaris or a chance to visit some famous temples.
Dive spots
A couple of good dive spots in the area around Hurghada are Rash Disha, Eruk Talata, Abu Hashish, Gota Abu Ramada and Abu Ramada. These dive spots are all boat dives and around an hour away from Hurghada. The visibility is around 30 meters all year round and you'll see the most amazing things from beautiful hard and soft corals in all kinds of colours and lots of fish. You'll see clown fish, moray eels, lionfish, crocodilefish, parrotfish, angelfish, barracudas, octopi and many more.
