Diving "The Prom"
Wilsons Promontory aka "The Prom" is Australia's most southern point. It's located around 140 km from Melbourne and in 1908 is was declared a National Park. It's a perfect place to spot some true Australian wildlife such as Koalas, Wallabies, Echidnas, Wombats, Kangaroos and even the very shy Platypus.
Under water you'll see that diving The Prom means lots of boulders, caves and pinnacles. There's a lot of kelp to be found and in deeper water you'll see lots of sponges
Rodondo Island
Rodondo Island Towers around 40 meters above the sea and drops to around 50 meters deep under water. On this island you can make a number of fantastic dives including gutters and ledges, caves, walls and swim-throughs. You can find a lot of nudibranchs, sea stars, cuttlefish, rock lobsters and may more. You'll also see some Port Jackson sharks, catsharks and other reef fish.
Great Glennie Island
This protected island is a fantastic place to dive. In the bay at the northern end of the island you can make dives along the sandy bottom that's covered in kelp and rocks. At a depth of around 18 meters you can find weedy sea dragons, stingarees, catsharks, nudibranchs and much more marine life. If you go a bit more to the edge of the bay you can find a drop off that goes to around 30 meters.
