A great variety to choose from

Hobart has quite some magnificent dive sites in the area that are suitable for all kinds of divers and education levels. Hobart itself a very nice city to visit with lots of history and culture, good pubs and restaurants and lovely shops. There's also a good dive shop on the outskirts of the city centre.

Tinderbox

Just off the boat ramp at the Tinderbox is lots of marina life to be found. This is a good spot to also make a night dive. Nudibranchs, cuttlefish, leatherjackets, cowfish and sea stars are often seen at this dive site.

Betsey Island

At Betsey Island 11 boats sank deliberately to create Betsey Island Artificial Reef. This happened in the '70s and '80s. This dive site is accessible for divers of all levels and there's no special wreck training needed because of the large holes that were made in the hulls for easy access.
There are lots of invertebrates and fish to be found such as cuttlefish, morwong and perch.
