Kangaroo Island
Around Kangaroo Island are a number of great diving spots. Kangaroo Island has around 400 km of coastline and under water it's filled with colorful sponges and many rocky reefs. It's also the home of more then fifty shipwrecks.
Not only the scuba diving is fantastic on Kangaroo Island, but the wildlife living on the island is magnificent too. You'll find lots of birds and different kind of reptiles. Ofcourse is it's namesake, the kangaroo, living there as well as possums, emus, echidnas and koalas. It's a great place to visit and have a good look around you above and under water.
Kangaroo Head
Kangaroo Head is one of the best dive sites on Kangaroo Island to see leafy sea dragons. It will take some time and patience, because it's hard to distinguish them from the surrounding kelp and other weeds. It's really rewarding when you see one, because it's probably one of the most beautiful creatures you'll find around the southern waters of Australia.
The rocky reef lies in about 12 meters of water and houses not only leafe sea dragons, but also rock lobster, perch and lots of colorfull invertebrates.
