The Reef within reach
Port Douglas is a very popular place with scuba divers from all over the world. With the tropical climate you can enjoy scuba diving all year round. There's a huge variety of accommodation to choose from. There are a couple of charter boats that offer daytrips and liveaboard tour to the inner and outer reefs.
Agincourt Reefs
The Agincourt Reefs consists of a few reefs. On the Nursery Bommie you can find some huge Moray's and at The Wreck you can still find pieces of a Taiwanese ship.
There are two permanent pontoons moored on the reefs and they are owned by Quicksilver Diving Service. From these pontoons you have easy access into the water and from there you can go and cruise the coral gardens. Blue Wonder is a magnificent dive site and it hasn't got 'Wonder' in its name for nothing. At The Channels you can make a nice dive with a lot of swim-throughs and caves. In those dark corners are often lot's of fish to be found.
Norman Reef
Norman reef is one of the many outer reefs. There's a nice 30 meter drop off and in that area divers often see reef sharks and turtles. You can also find some caves and swim-throughs. On Norman Reef you can make dives to a depth of approximately 27 meters.
