Enjoy diving around Brisbane
When you're in Brisbane and you take a look at the brown coloured Brisbane River you wouldn't say that the Brisbane area is a fantastic part of south east Queensland to do some scuba diving.
Go out into Moreton Bay and have a look around Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island.
Tangalooma Wrecks
On the bayside of Moreton Island there are 15 shipwrecks called the Tangalooma Wrecks. These vessels have been deliberately sunk to provide shelter for small boats. Although this dive site has depths from 2 up to 10 meters deep, this still is an interesting site. The wrecks attract a large amount of fish and other marine life such as Wobbegongs, Kingfish and lots of other tropical fish.
Flinders Reef
About 5 kilometers off Cape Moreton lies Flinders Reef. A nice coral reef with a large population of marine life. You can spot Green Turtles here and Wobbegongs as wel as Stingrays and the occasional Manta Ray. If you go for a scuba dive during the Whale season you might even here a Whale song under water!
Flinders Reef is Brisbane only real coral reef and you can find hard and soft corals here. The walls, gutters, pinnacles and caves provide good scuba diving all around the reef.
