As a Rescue diver you'll learn to be more aware of different situations. You will learn what to do and who to contact in emergency situations.

This course consists of three parts. The theory, training sessions in the pool or open water with excellent conditions and the rescue scenarios.

Theory

In the theory part you wil learn all bout what causes diver stress and emergencies. It will also give you ways to approach a diver in stress, a responsive diver both on the surface and under water and how to approach an unresponsive diver at the surface and under water.
You can read all about techniques and procedures, accident management and a whole lot more.

Training sessions

In the training sessions in the pool or open water with good conditions you will practice the skills you have read in the manual. Your instructor will show them to you and then you can practise the skills yourself. With some drills you can demonstrate the skills you've just learned. By doing these drills you can learn to first think and assess the situation before you act.

Scenarios

The last part of your Rescue diver training consists of four scenarios. With these scenarios you don't know on forehand what's going to happen. The instructor will do his best to make these scenarios as real as possible to give a good idea of what could happen in a real emergency. In the four scenarios you will be able to demonstrate all the skills you've learned during the course.

When you successfully completed your course you'll become a PADI Rescue Diver and if you want to expand you skills and knowledge bout scuba diving you can continue with the PADI Divemaster course.
