Learn to be an Open Water Diver

If scuba diving is something you've always wanted to do, than the PADI Open Water Diver course is where you would start! It's a great course which learns you the basic principles of diving. You can easily study the coursematerial online, in your own home or in the classroom at a divingschool near you.

The PADI Open Water Diver course has three parts:

Learn the theory

Gain the knowledge you need to become a safe diver.
The theory part consists of five chapters which teaches you the basics of scuba diving. The first chapter will teach you about what pressure can do to your body and which equipment you need to use and how you need to use it to be a safe scuba diver. It will also tell you about the buddy system. The second chapter will teach you about adjusting to the underwater world. You will learn more about communication and procedures of buddy system and about breathing under water. In the third chapter you'll read everything about diving conditions, planning your dive, boat diving, and how to cope with problems. From now on you'll also do the open water dives. The fourth chapter will tell you about accessories for diving, diving and staying healthy, breathing air on depth and about dive tables and dive computers. In the last chapter you'll learn about procedures for dive computers and tables, the usage of a dive computer and of a Recreational Dive Planner and basic compass use.

Learn the scuba diving skills

A number of dives in a pool or shallow water with good, safe conditions.
When you start with the dives one of the first things you learn is how to set up you're gear. You'll learn about descending and ascending, how to act under water, problem solving under water and off course you'll see for yourself how much fun scuba diving is!

You can do the 4 open water dives at a dive site near your home on when you're on holiday. In the open water dives you'll repeat some things you've learned in the pool. You'll see that it's different when you do them in open water. You'll also learn new things and experience the beauty of the underwater world!

When you finished your course you become a PADI Open Water Diver and you're allowed to dive with a buddy to 18 meters. Always remember to stick to the things you've learned and be a safe diver. After you've completed this course you can continue your education program with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course
