Expand your knowledge

Once you're a PADI Open Water Diver you can continue learning more about exploring the amazing underwater world by doing the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.

The Adventure dives

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course (AOWD) consists of five Adventure dives. The Underwater navigation dive and the Deep dive are mandatory. By making the deep dive you'll learn more about the techniques and limits of deep diving, decompression illness, and reasons to make a deep dive. By making the navigation dive you'll learn all about the use of your compass, using navigation paterns, natural landmarks and reducing stres.

And the fun part of this course is that you can choose which other three dives you would like to do! There are quite some dives you can choose like a Night dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy, in which you learn to control your buoyancy, Drysuit dive, Boat dive, Wreck dive, Underwater photography, diving with the use of a scooter etc. It's your choice!

What's even better is that the five dives you do during this course all count as the first dive of a specialty course. So if you've done a wreck dive during your AOWD course and you would like to do a wreck dive specialty after that, then the wreck dive from the AOWD counts as your first dive of the specialty course! After this course you can attend the PADI Rescue Diver course.
